The next couple of weeks are going to be a crazy race against time to get my butterfly quilt finished. This quilt is to be given to Ollie’s uncle and aunt who will be celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary on September 17th, when they’ll be having a party on a boat. But I have rather a lot of work to do on it first…. I have finished 26 butterfly blocks, out of 40. It will just have white sashing around the sewn-together butterfly blocks, so once the blocks are done it shouldn’t take too much longer. But I had the most annoying thing happen. On Saturday night I realised that 12 of my blocks had some pieces of THE WRONG WHITE in them, it was a creamy white, not the uber-white of Kona’s snowy offering. So frustrating. I went to my lovely local quilt shop, Creative Quilting, to stock up, and they had no Kona, only two other whites, neither of which was quite right. GRRR. So, I await an order from Simply Solids who have all the gorgeous Kona solids.
Sweet Pea and I are due northbound tomorrow, to stay with my parents for a few days, so that my mum and I can go to the Great Northern Quilt Show on Friday, yippeeeeee! So I will hopefully be able to get some more blocks done on my mum’s machine.
